The Original Pickle Barrel in Bozeman was started by Ken and Kerry Olson in 1974 and is now owned by Jenny O’Brien.
The original shop is located at 809 West College across from the Montana State University in an old barbershop. Attached to the barbershop building is an old house that was renovated in the mid ’80s and now serves ice cream (Wilcoxson’s, made in Livingston, MT) soups and desserts.
Pickle Barrel sandwiches are known statewide and may be even world renowned. All are huge and made to order with freshly baked bread and ingredients prepared daily. Customers come back year after year even after moving to other states. They bring their families and friends to experience a Pickle Barrel sandwich.
